Dear Parents and Guardians,
After a great introductory week, I would like to provide a short update regarding what we have been doing in class.
This week's work has centered around getting to know everyone in the class and become familiar with school rules and classroom routines.
We have created our very own "school rule characters" which help us remember important classroom and school rules and expectations. Setting realistic goals and learning what we must do to achieve them has also been a core area of teaching. We discussed the general idea of what makes an achievable goal and some basic steps on how to better achieve a positive outcome.
We also created a "Summer Snapshot" that highlights a few of the exciting things done over the summer vacation. Overall, a very positive week that makes me very optimistic for the academic year.
Finally, my sincerest apologies for any confusion regarding the schedule. During the first week some changes had to made in order to have classes operating smoothly for all year groups. Attached is the timetable that we are using for Y2M. It will also be updated in your child's contact book. Again thank you for you patience with this issue.
A few reminders for the week:
- Please ensure the children bring a hat as it has been extremely hot this week.
- If they wish to bring a water bottle to school they may keep that in class with them to drink at their leisure.
- Encourage children to read at home, they can read anything - magazines, books, online, emails etc.
Please be reminded that all students are expected to swim unless they have a doctors note. If they do not have a doctors note they will not be allowed to play at snack time or lunch time.
