Instructions
This week in English class we concluded our unit on instruction. We continued to discuss what makes a great set of instructions. We also learned how to create our own set of instructions for how to brush our teeth.

Instructions
Next week is Book Week! We will be doing loads of fun activities to promote Literacy. Comics will be created and lots of reading will occur. Finally, Anne Bryant, a famous children’s author, will visit Ascot.

Maths
|
Number and Place Value
In Math class, we spent the week learning to sort 2D shapes according to symmetry properties using Venn diagrams, identify right angles and sort shapes using Venn diagrams, and recognise squares, rectangles, circles, triangles, ovals and hexagons.

Geometry
Next week, we will continue our studies of geometry and angles. We will Identify and describe the properties of 2D shapes including the number of sides and line symmetry in a vertical line

Unit of Inquiry
|
In UOI, we looked at how germs are spread by doing an in class experiment using glue and glitter. This experiment showed not only how germs are transmitted across surfaces but how soap serves as an effective surfactant for their removal.
|
Next week in UOI, we will conduct a healthy habits survey in order to gather data from our peers. The data will be analyzed, discussed, and used in our upcoming healthy habits posters.
