Y2M Weekly Update: 6th November- 10th November 2017

English	Fairy Tales This week in English class,  we began our new unit “Fairy Tales.” Students learnt about the features of Fairy Tales and looked a variety of stories from other countries. We also studied proper nouns and when to use capital letters.	Fairy Tales Next week in English class, we will begin to locate the beginning, middle, and end of a story. We will also look at what makes an effective Fairy Tale character and setting.
Maths	Addition and Subtraction This week in Math class, we reviewed adding and subtracting to 10 and how to add/subtract 10, 11, 20, 21, 30, 31 to any 2 digit number.	Position, Direction, and Measuring Understand and use terms and vocabulary associated with position, direction and movement; Measure lengths using uniform units; Begin to measure in centimetres and metres
Unit of Inquiry	How We Express Ourselves This week in UOI, we began our new Unit, “How We Express Ourselves Our line of Inquiry is: The art of storytelling enables people to communicate creatively.	How We Express Ourselves Next week in UOI, we will look at a variety of live performances and think about how we can incorporate acting and singing best practices into our upcoming KS1 Production.
