This week in English class, we created our own fantasy characters using our character planning template. We also created fantasy settings that we will later use in our own stories.

Next week in English class, we will study the “story mountain” method of planning a story. We will plan our stories using the characters and settings created in class.

Maths
|
This week in Maths class, we counted in 2s, 5s and 10s to solve multiplication problems and find specified multiples; introduced the × sign; recorded the 2, 5 and 10 times-tables; and investigated multiplications with the same answer.
|
Next week in Maths class, we will tell the time to the nearest quarter of an hour using analogue and digital clocks; understand the relationship between seconds, minutes and hours and use a tally chart; interpret and complete a pictogram or block graph where one block or symbol represents one or two things.

How the World Works
This week in UOI, we continued to dive deeper into the past and look at how transportation has changed over time. We also created a basic personal timeline.

How the World Works
Next week in UOI, we will explore timelines in greater depth and make a second more detailed timeline that will be presented to the class. The role in technology in regards to human progress will also be examined.
