Y2M Weekly Update: 23th April - 27th April 2018

 

	This Week	Next Week
English	This week in English class, we wrote about our Songkran holiday. We also discussed why adjectives make our writing more interesting to read and the proper use of past tense.	Next week in English class, we will learn about how to properly use speech when writing. Quotations and speech bubbles will be be the primary focus.
Maths	This week in Maths class, located, ordered and compare 2-digit numbers on 0-100 landmarked lines and on the 1-100 square; used < and > signs; and subtract 2-digit numbers by counting back in 10s and 1s.	Next week in Maths, we will use doubles and number bonds to add three 1-digit numbers; use number facts to 10 and 20 in number stories; find complements to multiples of 10; understand subtraction as difference and find this by counting up; find small differences either side of a multiple of 10.
Unit of Inquiry	Sharing the Planet This  week in UOI, we began the ‘tuning in’ phase of our next unit, ‘Sharing the Planet’. In this unit we will learn about how living creatures have evolved to survive over time.	Sharing the Planet Next week in UOI, we will continue to examine the impact of evolution and adaptation on animals and plants. We will look at how habitats influence change in living creatures.
